‘Vortex’ is a monumental sculpture that was an experiment in the aesthetic qualities that could be achieved by exploring simple ratio’s and repetition. The principles of Fibonacci were followed in the creation of this sculpture and as a result the simplicity of the form creates a very beautiful and eye catching quality.
Vortex was created for a garden exhibition at the Hillier gardens in Hampshire. It is made from satin polished stainless steel and measures 240cm high by 80cm wide.
I have undertaken many bespoke commissions to make this design at varying scales and made with a variety of finishes from mirror polished to bright powder coated colours.
